Hi-in the past, something that has had a big effect on our legistlators on other topics was to invite them to a ‘house party’, so they could meet us and understand our issues. IN the past, Senator Finkbeiner was the only republican voting FOR our issue, which passed, because in part we invited him to meet us and after that he could not consciously vote against us. This might be a good idea–invite Roger or Larry over for dinner at about 5:30 some weeknight, and set your table out on your deck (or you can use my yard/deck if you want, a place where i have never had dinner outside during the week because of the noise). Then they will GET IT. they will especially GET IT if they have to drive north on Avondale at 5 pm.

Just a thought–

Thanks for your input, Ginger. We agree with you that there’s no substitute for having elected officials come out here and HEAR the problem for themselves. We invited county and state officials to meet with us and the meeting is taking place this week. We have Rep. Roger Goodman and Rep. Springer’s aide coming to a home near Avondale on 5/22. The couldn’t make it during rush hour but we will be showing a video of rush hour traffic and they will hear the loud truck that run all day. Sometimes the individual vehicles are louder when it’s not rush hour because they are travelling faster. We hope to have more meetings like this. Thanks for contributing. We hope you will continue to visit our website and subscribe to receive regular updates.

I think that because of all the serious accidents at the corner of NE159th & Avondale there should be a traffic light.

I would like to know if you would like more information on the county budget issues. The Sheriff and other members of the criminal justice community have been out telling people about the criminal justice cuts that are coming and the impact on citizens. This is a very serious issue and people who live in unincorporated King County need to know what is happening. The Sheriff and I need your help. Would you like any info? Thanks. Kathy
